Dystlab software runs locally but requires an internet connection. This is required to identify you as a user and to apply your current subscription.

What is web authentication?

The software (TechEditor, CAEERO) is desktop and runs on your local computer. However, it requires an active Internet connection for user authorisation. During the web authentication process, the software product automatically configures its interface and makes certain functions available or unavailable, according to your current subscription.

How web authentication works

Web authorisation requires a minimum of actions: enter your username and password in the browser and press the LOG IN button (or the Enter key).

First, the app will check your internet access and for updates, and then check your subscription status. If all the authorisation steps are completed, the app starts working.

To avoid logging in each time

The browser supports the session mechanism (via cookies), so we recommend enabling the Remember me option. In this case, web authentication will be performed automatically:

How to get back to the login page

The browser is configured so that the start page is always the web authorisation page (with fields for entering the login and password). If this page is different from the start page, the Authentication URL button will help you return to the web authentication page.

Launching the application

The duration of web authentication depends on the speed of your Internet connection. For modern cable and Wi-Fi networks, it usually takes a few seconds.

In rare cases, authorisation may not work. It depends on various factors: operating system, Edge browser, etc. If you are already logged and the application does not start automatically, click Start Program (the first button in the Dystlab Authentication Center window).

How to log out

At any time, you can log out of your account or change your user details. To do this, go to the Help tab on your product's dashboard and click My Profile, or another button from the User category.

In the browser, select the profile picture — this is your user section on the Dystlab Store website. The last item in this menu is Logout; by clicking it, you will cancel your login.

Note. If you are logged out of your account, the program will continue to work with the current settings. However, you will need to log in again the next time you start the application.

Update the application

Dystlab software products have a semi-automatic update function. The check for updates starts during web authorisation and if an update is found, the software will prompt you to update:

You can update the software product:

  • via installation (recommended method)
  • download a portable version (archive)

If you choose to upgrade via installation, the application will download the installation package to your computer and run it, and the current application will be closed.

FAQs

Where can I register to use the software?

Users are registered on the Dystlab Store website. You can register from any browser, including a mobile device. Your current subscription type will be automatically applied to each Dystlab product you work with.

I enter my login and password, but the authorization does not work...

  • Check that you are connected to the Internet.
  • Check that the program is not being blocked by antivirus software or a firewall.
  • Make sure your account is active (log in to the Dystlab Store via your system browser).
  • Check that you are entering your username in the Login field, not your email address.

What happens when the subscription expires?

A FREE subscription is valid for an unlimited period of time, so it cannot ‘expire’. Other types of subscriptions are valid for a certain period of time; when the subscription expires, the user automatically switches to the FREE plan.

I work with different applications from Dystlab. Does each of them require separate registration?

No separate registration is required. All Dystlab digital products work under a single web authorisation scheme and share your current subscription.

Can I be logged in on multiple computers at the same time?

The number of simultaneous authorisations depends on the subscription plan you have chosen. This information can be found here.

What data is tracked during the web authentication process?

According to the Privacy Policy, Dystlab does not have access to information that is created or edited by users using our software. Only a limited set of user data is sent during web authentication: login, password, email, location, etc.

Is my connection secure during web authentication?

In terms of technology, web authentication is a common login procedure in a web browser. Dystlab products use a browser based on Microsoft Edge with all its inherent security features. At the level of the Internet connection, data protection is ensured by SSL certificates installed on Dystlab websites.
